Let Your Light Shine

chandelier against the window

This is a very pretty chandelier.  As I look at this picture, I receive the message, “Let Your Light Shine”.  As you can see through the window, it is a cloudy and snowy day.  Although, I absolutely love cloudy, rainy, and snowy days, some people do not.  To some, all they see is gloom, dull, cold, wetness, having to stay inside, to name a few.  If you are one of these people, I encourage you to change your perception.  Instead, look at it this way – you have a chance to Shine Your Light!

Brighten your so-called “dull-day” by realizing the flowers, plants, trees, etc. need the snow and rain.  Go outside, put on a smile, smell the freshness in the air, let the coldness penetrate you for a while (it won’t hurt you), let the raindrops fall on your face and really feel how they roll down your face, feel the wetness, and just simply let yourself enjoy Mother Nature and all its beauty.  Go for a walk and smile at others, greet them, and simply “Shine Your Light”.  Let others see in you, a reason to enjoy this type of weather also.

Afterwards, go home, cook something warm and filling, eat dessert, make coffee or tea, watch a good movie, read a book, sew a quilt, crochet, knit, call a friend, lay in bed with your love, play with your kids, play with your cat or dog — whatever you enjoy doing.  If you have a fireplace, light it, sit near it, listen to the crackle of the flames, feel the heat and warmth.  Think how blessed you are with all that you have even if you think you have little.

Shine your light and you will always see a brighter world all the way around no matter how gloomy you or others might feel. — Kathyann
